What Happens When Two People Remember at the Same Time

Sometimes I wonder how many conversations we lose

before they even begin.

Not because we don’t care—

but because we’re stuck in roles,

or stories,

or systems that taught us who we’re supposed to be

and how the other is supposed to sound.

And I’ve been thinking a lot about what happens when that drops away.
